Arts and Ideas, Fisk University, Nashville, TN
Introduce students to ideas pertaining to art, art practice, historical and cultural influences. Lead students to develop and curate the Spring Student Art Exhibition for the annual Spring Arts Festival.
Elementary Design
Introduction to fundamental elements of art and principles of design. Through a series of projects, museum and gallery visits, students are guided to find value in both the formal and informal qualities of art making.
Fall 2022
African Art
Using the permanent collection to discover themes, forms and connections of African art from antiquity to the present. During the Fall of 2022, students were able to actively use the African Modernism Exhibition on display as part of the curriculum; students designed their own virtual exhibitions to which they developed beginning with these African Art objects.
